Who We Are

Family owned and operated since 2001, all of our friendly farm animals live with us on our humble homestead as cherished family pets. They do not live on the road—nor would we ever want them to. We are what we call a Destination Zoo: we travel to each event, then return home so our animals can frolic and play just as they were meant to. Once they’ve enjoyed their time at home, we set out together for the next “destination.”

Because no two events are the same, we do not operate a one-size-fits-all model. Whether coordinating with a large State Fair or planning a birthday celebration for a two-year-old, we work closely with each host to curate the ideal assortment of animals for your occasion. Our house-raised, friendly animals are sure to delight guests of all ages and leave lasting memories.

We proudly incorporate edutainment into every aspect of our zoo experience—from story time with individual animals and educational flipboards to the lighthearted humor we share while interacting with guests. Our goal is to create an atmosphere where visitors not only enjoy themselves but also learn, smile, and laugh while engaging with our gentle, friendly animals.

At DSS: Backyard Events, we believe in the magic of connecting people with animals.  Our mobile petting zoo brings the joy of the farm directly to your event--offering fun, laughter, and learning for guests of all ages.  Whether it's a community or state fair, school day, or private celebration, we make every experience memorable, safe, and delightfully interactive.

DSS: Backyard Events is an educational, family-friendly petting zoo based in Cocolalla, Idaho.  We provide fully mobile, hands-on experiences that highlight the importance of animal care, empathy, and curiosity.  Our trained staff ensures that every event upholds the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
